Life Jackets & Buoyancy Aids - Stay Safe in Winter Seas
We offer a range of Manual and Automatic Life Jackets, Buoyancy Aids and a host of Life Jackets Accessories here at Sailing Clothing Store, to help you stay safe out on the water.
Manual Life Jackets
Manual Life Jackets, as they sound, are life jackets that you operate yourself. These are handy when you might want to swim or move around without the life jacket automatically inflated. Crewsaver and Baltic both offer a selection of Manual Life Jackets in our store, available in a variety of sizes. A D-ring is optional, allowing the user to be attached to a harness if necessary or desired.
Automatic Life Jackets
A hugely popular and innovative flotation device, the Automatic Life Jacket is ideal for sailing in conditions where there is the potential danger of entering tumultuous water or being thrown into the sea, unconscious. These jackets can be inflated via one of two systems: a hammar system inflates as water pressure increases, and a standard system works by inflating when water contacts a specially placed capsule. Manual options are also available with our Automatic Life Jackets.
Buoyancy Aids & Accessories
The simplest of flotation devices, Buoyancy Aids allow the user to leave and enter the water repeatedly. They are primarily used for additional flotation and will not aid an unconscious person in keeping upright. Musto and Gill – two very popular brands – offer ranges of Buoyancy Aids on Sailing Clothing Store. A range of accessories are also available, from Lifejacket Spray Hoods and Lifejacket Lights to Thighstraps and a range of safety lines, all designed to give you additional aid in the event of an emergency.
Some kind of flotation device is a very worthy investment when taking to the seas. It could mean all the difference in a life-death situation. Keep your sailing safe over the colder months by ensuring you are prepared for the worst.
