New Henri Lloyd Products
Henri Lloyd have been manufacturing clothing designed to protect sailors against the elements, whilst out at sea, for nearly 50 years. In that time they have also sponsored many sailing stars – such as Ben Ainsley and Shirley Robertson – and played an active role in the sailing community, supporting and getting involved in world events. Their clothing has also developed over the years, and they now have a wide range of products for you to choose from. We have just stocked up one some of their latest and greatest designs.
Lightweight Jackets & Smocks
The most important factors you’ll want to consider when buying any item of sailing clothing are how waterproof it is and how well it regulates your temperature. The sea can, naturally, provide a very cold, wet and windy environment for you to sail in, so your safety and comfort is paramount. Henri Lloyd offer a range of jackets and smocks. Breathable technology helps you to stay warm whilst remaining ventilated, and additional design choices like reflective strips will keep you visible in the murkiest of conditions. All jackets and smocks, from vapour and blaze varieties to Ocean Explorer and official race renditions, are lightweight, giving you optimum support and comfort whilst not impeding your well-needed manoeuvrability on the boat.
Weather-Resistant Salopettes & Hi-Fits
Salopettes and Hi-Fits are all designed with the worst weather conditions in mind. They can keep you insulated and dry, whilst, with their unique shape, leaving you plenty of room to remain free to move around the boat with ease. Each of the Ocean Explorer versions on offer is fitted with conveniently placed, fast draining pockets to optimise easy access. The Phantom variants make use of a non-corrosive zip, meaning that it, like the rest of the clothing, won’t take on damage against extreme weather.
Supportive Mid & Base Layers
Mid-layers such as the Henri Lloyd Ember stretch tops are ideal for comfort and support because of their stretchy material. You can easily adjust what you are wearing to cater to the weather, and, on top of this, it is quick drying. It will keep you warm when it’s cold because of its micro stretch fleece material. Henri Lloyd’s Atmosphere t-shirts are made to be high wicking, so that it keeps you cool in hotter weather conditions. It can also double up as a base-layer when combined with other garments in the more harsh conditions. These stretch tops and t-shirts are available in both men’s and women’s varieties.
The Henri Lloyd Shadow Boot
The new Henri Lloyd Shadow boot utilises expert technology to make it not only comfortable and robust, but flexible and practical too. Waterproof leather and breathable fabrics allow the temperature to remain constant inside the boot and prevent water from getting inside. Rubber soles ensure absolute friction on what is usually going to be a slippery surface. This is enhanced by water dispersing channels and special ‘sticky’ rubber at the heel and ball. A fast wicking fabric called dri-lex lines the boot, absorbing moisture and keeping you dry. Top all of this off, it is a lot more lightweight than other boots, optimising your sailing performance.
