Coastal

Coastal sailing apparel is similar in design to offshore garments and ideal for more leisurely water-based activities. This insulating will keep crew members comfortable and in complete control along the shoreline.

Comfortable Layered Jackets

This inshore sailingwear comprises all the necessary features such as a roll away hood, fleece collar, hand warmer pockets and the means to attach a lifejacket. Apart from the design of breathable materials and the absence of non-metallic reflective strips which are usually employed for ocean sailing, this style of clothing has many features which are similar to offshore designs. Typical features include a lower neckline, soft nylon fabric, compact visor.

Light Coastal Designs

Staying inshore means you can benefit from much more amicable conditions, and as a result this means that you can enjoy less bulky designs compared to more heavy-duty wares.

One of the key features of this sailing clothing is the breathable fabric used in the membrane under the main nylon. Where more expensive membranes such as Gore-tex are used for ocean or offshore sailing, coastal garments use layers such as Henri Lloyd TP1 & TP2, Musto 'Breathable Plus' and Gill 2 Dot.

Breathable Fabric Membranes

The boundaries between coastal and offshore clothing are blurred. You can quite easily go sailing offshore in a coastal jacket, however the wearer must be aware that the fabrics breathe less and features are reduced to reflect the different demands of this type of activity.
