Purchasing Technical Sailing Clothing can be a daunting prospect. With so many brands and product designs, together with changes in technology, it can be confusing and hard to keep up! We provide a selection of detailed and updated buying guides to cover each of the main areas of sailingwear.
Meeting Individual Requirements
We cover everything from sailing jackets and marine footwear to those all important Lifejackets. We explain the choice of fabrics available, the pros and cons of all the varying designs and recommend to you the best products on the market. Our expert assistance should help you to find the perfect garments to meet your requirements.
Jackets & Smocks
Whether you are out at sea or taking a stroll along the coastline, staying dry in wet and windy conditions is extremely important. Sailing jackets and smocks not only keep the water out, but provide great insulation, keeping the heat in.
Fully Taped Seams
To be considered 100% waterproof, the garment must have fully taped seams. If you find that the item has 'critically taped seams' then this will only cover the main shoulder, hood and chest regions.
Mesh Lining Waterproofs
Ranges such as the Musto 'Caribbean' or Henri Lloyd 'Breeze' are extremely lightweight and waterproof with inner mesh lining. The seams are fully taped and the fabric is breathable Ripstop. This superb material is extremely strong and lightweight - perfect for sailing activity. These all weather garments are also ideal for travelling or as a compact addition to your kitbag as they can be stored in a very small space.
Designer Sailing Jackets
These designs are often purchased for their aesthetic value by those that simply want a high quality waterproof garment from a respected sailing brand. Prices vary greatly depending on the manufacturer and design, so be sure to have a good look around and take into account the sort of activity you will be doing when wearing the garment.
Casual Beach Mid Layers
We offer a range of marine jackets that are critically taped, such as the Musto snug blouson. This type of clothing is far better suited to casual use or as an effective mid layer when sailing in mild conditions.
