Henri Lloyd was founded in 1963 in Manchester England by MBE Henri Strzelecki. He started a company that was dedicated to protection through technical innovation in wet weather gear.
As the company began to grow they started to supply clothing to yachting crews, one of which was the yacht Maiden in 1989. They were the first all female crew to sail around the world. In 1997 Henry Lloyd supplied clothing to five out of the nine boats competing in the Volvo Ocean Race and today they sponsor the British stars Ben Ainsley and Shirley Robinson. In 1998 they launched their first fashion range called 'Salt tribe' which has proven an extremely successful addition to the collection.
